Welcome trippers to a retro blast to the UK space rock bands of the 70's, 80's and beyond. A trip to the past and the future... a journey far into space and deep inside your mind! You thought you've seen it all? Let SONIC ATTACK blast you with their searing synths, screaming guitars, smoke, strobes and cosmic light show as we revisit the space-rock festivals that left Earth's gravity before most of you were born. Humans, UFO abductees and aliens are all welcome! So prepare to be transported back to the '80's and rocketed thousands of years into the future!
SONIC ATTACK, based in Melbourne Australia, is inspired by the alternative, progressive, space rock bands of the 70's and beyond - specifically Hawkwind, who have an immense following in the UK and a solid fan base of diehard fanatics and new converts in Australia. Hawkwind has recorded and toured continuously for over 30 years and has been credited as the inspiration for everything from Punk to Techno, and from Spinal Tap to the Rave scene....as well as SONIC ATTACK itself!
The members of SONIC ATTACK are Andrew Williams (drums), Anthony Rushton (guitar/vocals), Ric Duckett (bass/vocals), and Gordon Williams (guitar/vocals). Long-term Friend of Hawkwind Bob Walker joins us in spirit when not in person with his unique contribution to vocals and performance. Rod Strong is our keyboard player extraordinaire. Naja the Intergalactic Space Goddess sometimes makes a guest appearance and takes the stage for a Hawkwind or Motorhead number or two. Peter Philp is the wizard sound engineer and Halogen Harry operates our new laser light show, strobe, fog and bubble effects..
